Women's Soccer Falls To Roger Williams In Home And CNE Opener, 1-0
BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's soccer team suffered a loss to Conference of New England (CNE) rival Roger Williams, 1-0, in Sunday evening's CNE opener at Hempstead Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, the Hawks eventually set themselves up with a corner kick that they capitalized on in the 54th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The Gulls created a few opportunities late in the game to knot up the score, but ultimately were unable to find the back of the net.
Samantha Klimas (North Andover, Mass.) headed in a near game-tier that drilled the crossbar in the 84th minute, and Gabrielle Klindtworth (Guilderland, N.Y.) also let one fly late, but the Hawks kept the Gulls off the board in Endicott's home opener.
Amanda Cosgrove (Newton, Mass.) played a solid game in net, as she picked up four saves in the loss. She came off her line on several occasions to thwart Hawks attackers on breakaways.
