Women's Soccer Bests Hartford, 2-1
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Hartford, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in the Conference of New England's (CNE) season-opener at Alumni Field.
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott women's soccer team defeated Hartford, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon in the Conference of New England's (CNE) season-opener at Alumni Field.
After trailing 1-0 early in the first half, Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) potted a goal in the 16th minute to knot the game at one all.
Soon after, Eliza Walker (Marshfield, Mass.) lit the lamp to take a 2-1 lead courtesy of a feed from Ella Morgan (Salem, Mass.) with 5:39 remaining in the opening stanza.
Carly Matthews (Suffield, Conn.), Michelle Donahue (Melrose, Mass.), Chloe Bauman (Southington, Conn.), and Madeline Barbieri (Cranston, R.I.) propelled the back line to maintain the advantage throughout the second half.
Rosalina Caliri (East Greenwich, R.I.) denied two shots before Samantha MacCormack (Danvers, Mass.) made her season debut between the pipes in the final seven minutes to close out the road triumph.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Hawks took the win in the first-ever contest between the two teams last season (3-0, 10/14/23).
- Rischitelli recorded her third goal this season, while Walker netted her second tally of the 2024 campaign.
- The 16th minute goal was Endicott's first goal in the last five contests.
- Elizabeth Healy (Plymouth, Mass.), Matthews, Donahue, Bauman, and Barbieri all played the full 90 minutes in the hard-fought victory.
- Each squad had three shots on goal and three corner kicks.

Endicott (4-2-2, 1-0 CNE) travels to Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday, 9/25 for a 4:00 PM kickoff. Hartford (3-2-1, 0-1 CNE) travels to Gorham, Maine for a 4:00 PM contest with the Southern Maine Huskies on Wednesday.
