No. 4 Women’s Rugby Handles Plymouth State, 45-7

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 4 nationally ranked Endicott women's rugby team defeated Plymouth State, 45-7, on Saturday evening in its season opener at Hempstead Stadium.

Freshman Tess Merrill (Greenwich, N.Y.) guided the Gulls offensively with three tries. For her efforts, Merrill was named the Rookie of the Match.

Endicott also received solo tries from all three of its captains Caitlin Burke (Dudley, Mass.), Melissa Drexler (Duxbury, Mass.), and Cassidy McElhinney (Natick, Mass.), as well as Kaitlyn Quinn (Salem, N.H.) and Jourdan VanAmBurgh (Selkirk, N.Y.).
