Game One at MIT
The Gulls entered game one knowing the Engineers were a physical team that worked hard, but Endicott gave it right back to them as they battled just as hard and used their skills to their advantage. The first period was even as neither side could find the back of the net but Coach Munzing must have given a good first intermission pep talk as the squad came out firing in the second period.
The Blue and Green tallied five goals in the second period alone, Coach Munzing was impressed with the team's efforts stating "we held the fort in the opening period against a hard skating MIT squad, but in the next period out skills just took over."
All three lines for Endicott netted goals throughout the contest. Two players tallied three points, as senior co-captain Addie Weeks (Harwichport, Mass.) earned two goals and an assist while junior Samantha Parr (Dedham, Mass.) also chipped in with a goal and two helpers.
Following behind their stead, senior co-captain Jesse Bilafer (Concord, Mass.) and freshman Martha Crowley (Castleton, N.Y.) also tallied solo goals while junior Mackenzie Hurst (Gilford, N.H.) netted two in her first game back after finishing her season with the field hockey team.
In the supporting roles junior Lexi Bird (Lebanon, N.H.), sophomores Lindsey Sneider (Gorham, Maine), Meagan Hyland (Duxbury, Mass.) and freshman Katie Saunders (Barrington, R.I.) all earned assists on the night.
Between the pipes junior goaltender Taylor Witham (Cumberland, Maine) and MacKenzie Dutton (Andover, Mass.) were solid in net as they controlled the tempo defensively and only let up two goals combined.
Game Two at Harvard
With a sweet game one victory under their belts the Gulls were ready to get back on the ice come Sunday as they played the Crimson. The Blue and Green scored early and often in the opening period and cruised to a 9-3 victory.
In the opening minutes Hurst and Parr each set the tone of the game as they put tallies on the board. Parr would not let the one goal be all she had in the game as she netted her first hat trick on the season while also earning an assist.
Following Parr, Bilafer and Hurst each tallied two goals and an assist to end the night. Weeks also followed in their footsteps coming off a great night against MIT and tallied a goal and two assists.
Bilafer and Sneider were a force on the offensive line as they both worked hard in the faceoff circle controlling most of the battles and created scoring opportunities for their fellow Gulls.
Goaltender Witham gave another superior game in goal and was followed with impressive back up play by Dutton who held the Crimson scoreless in her period of play.
Endicott has been off to a great start and Coach Munzing could not be happier with their efforts and dedication to the team. The Gulls will look ahead to Saturday, November 6th when they host Dartmouth at the Talbot Rink in Gloucester, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
