    • Endicott Wraps up Regular Season at Springfield Invt'l; Gulls for NECC Tournament

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men’s volleyball wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with their final two matches at the Springfield Invitational and suffered two losses to Marymount (Va.) in five sets and #7 Stevens in straight sets. The Gulls fell to 16-12 overall on the season and will now wait for the NECC Tournament to begin on April 11th where they have home-court advantage as the bracket’s top seed.

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with their final two matches at the Springfield Invitational and suffered two losses to Marymount (Va.) in five sets and #7 Stevens in straight sets. The Gulls fell to 16-12 overall on the season and will now wait for the NECC Tournament to begin on April 11th where they have home-court advantage as the bracket's top seed.

    Match One: Endicott 2, Marymount (Va.) 3 **set scores and full statistics missing**

    In the program's first ever meeting with Marymount (Va.), the Gulls won the first and third sets before falling in the deciding fifth-set 15-11. The Saints were playing in their season finale and end their 2014 campaign 9-20 overall and 3-7 in the Continental Volleyball Conference.

    Match Two: Endicott 0, #7 Stevens 3 (25-13, 25-20, 25-18)

    Endicott middle blocker Daniel Toth (Vernon, N.J.) matched his season-high of nine kills, previously achieved twice in matches against Newbury on February 22nd and Southern Vermont on March 4th, as the sophomore sported a .400 hitting percentage while contributing defensively with one solo and one assisted block in the narrow loss.

    Toth was complemented by six-kill efforts from senior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) and sophomore outside John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) and another five kills from sophomore outside Chandler Tayek (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.). Netherton led the Blue and Green with four block assists with Osborne adding two assisted stuffs at the net.

    Sophomore setter Cameron Little (San Diego, Calif.) stepped into a starting role and tied his season-high with 21 assists with five digs. In a win over NECC opponent Lesley back on March 26th, Little had also dished out 21 assists.

    Senior libero Aaron Jessee (Okinawa, Japan) did his best to combat a Ducks offense that hit .323 as a team with a match-high nine digs but Stevens relied on 13 kills apiece from Gabe Shankweiler (Allentown, Pa.) and Chris Vaughan (Medford, N.J.) as well as nine kills at a .533 clip by Daniel Smith (Tucson, Ariz.) to down Endicott.
