Endicott 3, Lesley 0; Gulls remain atop NECC with straight set win

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team continued their dominating play against NECC opponents on Saturday with a straight set, 25-8, 25-10, 25-13 victory on the road over Lesley.  The Gulls hit .337 as a team and improved their record to 9-4 (4-0 NECC) in 2013 and 12-0 versus Lesley all-time.

The Gulls continue their conference schedule with a road match at Southern Vermont on Tuesday, February 26^th at 6:00 pm in Bennington, Vermont.  This match was originally scheduled for Sunday but the impending snow storm forced a postponement. 

Endicott junior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) set a career-high with a .800 hitting percentage as his 12 kills on 15 attempts with no errors led all players.  Netherton recorded a solo block and assisted on two other stops at the net while adding a service in an overall solid effort.  Fellow middle, junior Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) added nine kills on 11 attempts with a .727 hitting percentage and three service aces. 

A total of 10 Gulls registered a kill against the Lynx from freshman setter Tyler Bacon (Cypress, Calif.), who amassed his sixth-straight 30-kill match while adding four digs defensively.  Outside hitters Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) and Chandler Tayek (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) each struck three kills apiece.  Tayek's output was his second straight match with three kills. 

Senior Matt Devendorf (Glastonbury, Conn.), juniors Brandon Chadwick (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.), and sophomorea Billy Mullen (Weymouth, Mass.) and Kristian Catalan (Sudbury, Mass.) each contributed with kills in the match. 

Defensively, Mullen had a team-high seven digs with sophomore Stewart Allendorph (Delmar, N.Y.) and freshman John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) adding five digs each, respectively.

With the loss, Lesley dropped to 0-10 (0-5 NECC) and will wait a week to play NECC rival Daniel Webster.
