BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott men's soccer team was handed a close 1-0 loss by the University of New England on Saturday afternoon.
The game remained scoreless until the 76th minute when UNE's Colin Madigan (Canton, Conn.) headed in a free kick from Lee Esposito (Niskayuna, N.Y.).
Although the Gulls continued to pressure offensively and saw a few scoring opportunities in the closing minutes, the Nor'easters were able to keep Endicott from notching the tying goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Will Manuel (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) recorded two saves during the contest and shifted to 6-3-3 on the season.
- The Gulls held a 16-9 shot advantage.
- Endicott recorded 10 corner kicks, while UNE had three.
- Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) led the offense with six shots, while Max Robbins (Longmeadow, Mass.) was close behind with four.
FOR THE FOES
- Nathan Delesdernier (Niantic, Conn.) improved to 4-7-0 on the season and made three saves.
- Dexter Doucet (Newmarket, N.H.) paced the offense with two shots.
