
Men’s Rugby Places Fourth At NCR National Championships
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Endicott men’s rugby team finished fourth overall at the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Men’s Small College National Championships over the holiday weekend.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Endicott men's rugby team finished fourth overall at the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) Men's Small College National Championships over the holiday weekend.
The Gulls went a perfect 3-0 in pool play with victories over Wisconsin-Stout (19-17), Richmond (19-12), and Slippery Rock (14-12) to qualify for the winners' bracket.
From there, Endicott defeated Hofstra (21-19) in the first round and Denver (24-7) in the quarterfinals to advance to the national semifinals.
The Gulls went on to drop their national semifinals game against New Mexico Tech (28-7) and the third place matchup to Babson (24-5) to wrap up the national tournament in fourth place.
Overall, on the season, Endicott posted a 36-8-1 record, captured both the CCRC 15s and 7s championships, and advanced to the NCR Northeast Regional title game.
