HARTFORD, Conn. – The Endicott men's lacrosse team lost to Trinity (Conn.), 14-10, on Tuesday evening in its 2021 season opener at Jessee/Miller Field.
Tied 9-9 with 18-seconds to play in the third quarter, Trinity scored three straight goals to secure a 12-9 lead midway into the final stanza to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Endicott held five different leads in the contest (1-0, 2-0, 5-4, 6-5, 7-5), but the Bantams answered each deficit with a run of three or more unanswered goals for the eventual victory.
Offensively, Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) paced the Gulls with a hat-trick.
Sam Abate (Beverly, Mass.) also added two tallies, while Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), Nick Sturgess (Hampstead, N.H.), Domenic Russo (Northborough, Mass.), Jaden Elsinger (Jericho, Vt.), and Sam DesMarais (York, Maine) all buried one goal apiece.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) stopped 19 shots, two shy of tying his single-game career-high.
- In addition to his one goal, Pagluiso dished out four assists for a total of five points in the contest. His four assists are the most registered in a season opener since Colin Bannon '17 M'18 (Westport, Conn.) had five against Stevens on February 22, 2015.
- This was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Endicott (0-1) travels to Salve Regina on Saturday, March 27 at 1 PM. Trinity (2-0) visits Wentworth tomorrow at 7 PM.
