2012 USILA Division III All-Americans
BEVERLY, Mass. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association named their 2012 All-American selections and Endicott junior faceoff specialist Sam Ozycz (Cheshire, Conn.) was put on the Honorable Mention team, his first postseason All-American selection in his career.
The award caps off a 2012 season in which Ozycz was named a Third Team Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse Magazine back in December of 2011, was honored twice as a CCC Defensive Player of the Week and at season's end earned Second Team All-CCC recognition.
Ozycz finished the spring season with a .655 faceoff win percentage (256-of-391) with 162 groundballs. His faceoff success ranks him 15th in the country and his 8.1 groundballs per game is good for 14th amongst NCAA DIII lacrosse players. He has helped the Gulls achieve top-10 rankings as a team in both of those categories as well.
Offensively, Ozycz tallied six goals and four assists for 10 points. His six goals came on an average of 7.5 seconds following a faceoff win with his quickest coming in at just three seconds in a 10-9 victory over Eastern Connecticut.
