Keith Brown’s Record-Breaking Night Leads Endicott Past Regis, 75-70

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Endicott sophomore guard Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) scored a career-high 38 points – highlighted by a single-game record 10 3-pointers – to guide the Gulls past Regis, 75-70, in the first round of the Babson Invitational on Saturday evening at Staake Gymnasium. 

Brown's 38-point performance (13-26 FG, 10-19 3PT, 2-2 FT) also ranks second on the single-game scoring list behind Kamahl Walker's '17 (Worcester, Mass.) 47-point game against Keene State College on November 15, 2015. 

Along with Brown's career night, the Gulls saw Nick Thibeault (Gorham, Maine) pour in 12 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2-3 FT) and bring down 10 boards for his first collegiate double-double. 

Endicott never trailed in the second half after producing a 36-32 lead at halftime, however, Regis did tie the contest four separate times in the final stanza (40-40, 45-45, 47-47, 49-49) before the Gulls' 13-point lead (68-55) with 5:51 remaining (68-57) was too much to overcome. Brown orchestrated the offensive surge for Endicott over that stretch with 12 points (all threes), while Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) contributed five points and Jordan Pettway (Bridgeport, Conn.) capped the run with a jumper. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Endicott is 4-2 all-time against Regis.
• The Gulls scored a game-high 26 points off of turnovers.
• Endicott assisted on 18 of its 25 baskets.
• Pettway guided the Gulls with a game-high five dimes. 

FOR THE FOES

• Roger Hamel (Huntington Beach, Calif.) and Juvens Dalger (Oakland Park, Fla.) tied for the team-high in points with 16 apiece.
• Dalger also added eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal to his stat line in the loss.
• Jordan Seldon (Everett, Mass.) also contributed 11 points.
• Regis outrebounded Endicott, 45-40.
• The Pride also doubled up the Gulls in the paint, 32-16, and their bench scored 26 points (14 Endicott). 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (1-0) will face No. 7 nationally ranked Babson in Sunday's championship game at 3 PM. Regis (0-2) plays Worcester State tomorrow in the consolation game at 1 PM.
