Bio
Profile: Returning after a
two year lay-off due to injuries, Sam will provide a strong and
experienced inside presence for the Gulls. He received a bachelor's
degree in history in June of '07, and is currently pursuing a
master's degree in sport management. As a Senior:
Missed the entire season with injury. As a Junior:
Missed the entire season with injury. As a
Sophomore: Played in 23 games for 2004-2005 CCC Champions,
averaging 20 minutes per game. Set a single season school record
for blocks with 35. Second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.4
per game. As a Freshman: Played in 10 games for
2003-2004 CCC Champions. In High School: Was a
member of state championship team from the Hyde School, and MVP of
the Connecticut High School Senior All-Star game.
Personal: A native of Philadelphia, PA, Sam is the
son of Eunice Evans. He is the nephew of former Duke All-American
and NBA player Gene Banks.
