Hicks' Game-Winner Lifts No. 10 Field Hockey Past Roger Williams, 2-1
BEVERLY, Mass. — Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) buried a third-period tally to send No. 10 nationally ranked Endicott past Conference of New England (CNE) foe Roger Williams in Saturday afternoon's matinee at North Field.
With the goal, Hicks crossed the 100 career point plateau (101).
The score came off of a penalty corner swing pass from Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) with just under two minutes remaining in the third period.
The Gulls defense staved off a Hawks comeback attempt through the rest of the third and fourth quarters, and eventually closed out the crucial conference home win.
Earlier in the contest, Lily Johnson (Paxton, Mass.) sent in a rocket off of a penalty corner that Tori Swanson (Farmington, Mass.) tipped in to put the Blue and Green up 1-0 (17th minute).
The Hawks responded with a Chelsea King (Albany, N.Y.) goal at the 19:42 mark, setting the stage for Hicks' game-winner in the second half.
Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) improved to 15-1 in net on the season. She picked up five saves in the win.
