Why Endicott? Why Division III?

Growing up in a small rural/suburban town in New England I thought that I wanted to go to a big state university as far away as possible where the weather was warm all year round. As I began to narrow down what I really wanted out of my college career, in the following four years, I realized I did not want to spend those years in one of the other corners of the country. I wanted to stay in New England, go to school to study criminal justice, and continue to play football. Staying in New England would allow my family and friends to enjoy my experience as well, whether they wanted to come to see me play or just visit, which usually went hand in hand. There were a few other schools with great criminal justice programs but the internship program that Endicott had to offer was a unique opportunity I couldn’t resist. The program was attractive to me as a prospective college student because it brought the average college curriculum to a new level that would separate me as a college graduate from others down the road as I applied for jobs. Next, I had begun the recruiting process to play football for the Endicott Gulls. At the time I was in communication with about a dozen other New England college football programs although none of them seemed to be right for me. The coaching staff at Endicott College was my greatest draw towards playing for them. They had a professionalism about them that I truly respected and I felt that they would do their best to develop me as an individual and an athlete. I did not want coaches that would be goofy or too friendly with me right off the bat. I wanted a coaching staff that would be professional, straight up, and eager to get to work towards winning a championship. I knew that over time our relationships would grow to the point where we could be more casual and relaxed, but it was not my main concern. Other than the academic and football programs, when I visited campus for the first time I had a gut feeling that it was the place for me, somewhere I could call home for the next four years. It was a beautiful campus that was small but had a big campus feel. Of course, the three beaches were a bonus. In addition, the dining and residence halls, where I would be spending a lot of time, were leaps and bounds from the ones I had experienced at other colleges which came as a real surprise to me. At that point, I did not think that there could be more to pull me in, but once I began to walk around campus and saw the interaction of students living here I could feel how tight-knit of a community it was and the pride that the students had for it. This is why I chose Endicott College.

Professional Aspirations

During the summer of 2016, I completed an internship with a state police troop in Tolland, Connecticut where I worked both internal and external to the department. I helped in the clerk’s office, observed dispatch, and would go out on ride-alongs with the troopers. My second internship was also with the state police at headquarters in Middletown, Connecticut. There I interned with the Collect Unit or Criminal Justice Business Applications Unit that is responsible for collecting, storing, and disseminating information such a criminal history.

Was a member of Wins-4-Life (AAU Basketball)... currently works in the Admissions Office as a tour guide

Minoring in Spanish... his stepfather, Karl Grabowski, played football at Colgate... his uncle, Chris Danler, played lacrosse at Cornell
