BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott College Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Brian A. Wylie announced the hiring of Morgan Mercier as Assistant Athletic Director on Tuesday. Mercier joins the Gulls’ administrative staff on Monday, August 11.
“In an extremely competitive search, Morgan quickly emerged as a thoughtful leader and someone who could have a significant impact with our students and department,” said Wylie. “His dynamic and passionate approach to the student-athlete experience, coupled with his ability to think creatively and strategically, is what excites us most about Morgan."
Mercier comes to Endicott with deep NCAA Division III roots, highlighted by his time spent at Moravian University (Pa.), Regis College (Mass.), Emmanuel College (Mass.), and the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
Mercier quickly climbed the administrative ladder at Moravian, starting his career as the Coordinator of Athletic Operations and Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach in June 2023, before being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Events in July 2024.
In his most recent position, Mercier’s duties entailed oversight of day-to-day athletic department operations, including budgeting, compliance, and planning efforts for team travel, NCAA Championships, and special events.
Mercier also supervised four full-time staff members, served as the primary liaison for football gameday operations, managed all athletic facilities, and coordinated practice and game scheduling.
“I am incredibly excited to join the team at Endicott College and contribute to a department that values excellence, collaboration, and the holistic development of student-athletes,” said Mercier. “I want to extend my sincere thanks to Dr. Bryan Cain, Dr. Brian Wylie, and the entire search committee for their trust and belief in me throughout this process. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt the energy, passion, and sense of community that make Endicott such a special place. I’m honored to be part of it, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Before his time at Moravian, Mercier served as the Assistant of Athletic Administration at Regis College for two years (2021-2023).
Mercier performed similar job functions in this role, including facilities management, budgeting, compliance, internal operations, and oversight of 45 student workers.
The Camden, Maine, native also interned at Emmanuel and the GNAC, where he researched Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) structures, completed strategic analysis projects, drafted EADA reports, and managed budgets.
Mercier graduated from Emmanuel with a Bachelor of Arts in business management (concentration: sport management), while minoring in education, in May 2021.
He was a two-sport student-athlete at Emmanuel, producing standout careers with the men’s soccer (2017-2020) and men’s lacrosse (2018-2021) programs.
Mercier was named captain of both teams as a senior and earned GNAC Academic All-Conference honors six times, three in each sport.
Additionally, Mercier was a National SAAC representative for NCAA DIII in 2020-21, and a three-year member and two-year president of Emmanuel’s SAAC.
In 2021, Mercier was named a finalist for the GNAC Man of the Year award.
He later earned his Master of Arts in Strategic Sports Communication from Regis in May 2023.
