Endicott owned the first half of play by going up 2-0 thanks to a goal and an assist by senior midfielder \#Kayla Corbett\# (Danvers, Mass.). Corbett brought her season totals up to six goals, three assists, and 15 points.
In the 17th minute, the Gulls tallied their first score off a corner kick from senior midfielder \#Sarah Johnson\# (Harrisville, R.I.). Johnson's offering deflected to Corbett who finished her shot to the left side of the goal. Shortly thereafter at 21:10, Corbett knocked a cross that was collected by sophomore forward \#Chelsea Garlock\# (Meriden, Conn.) and put past the Leopards keeper.
Endicott's 2-0 lead at the start of the second half was short-lived as Wentworth sophomore midfielder Taryn Doherty (Marshfield, Mass.) scored just under two minutes into the stanza. An initial shot by sophomore Molly Newcomb (Marshfield, Mass.) cracked off the crossbar, but the Gulls failed to clear the ball out of the box and Doherty was able to gain possession and beat the goalie.
Down 2-1, the Leopards scored the game-tying goal in the 53rd minute. Junior defender Lucy Brown (Plainville, Conn.) scored with an assist from senior midfielder Ashley Cook (San Diego, Calif.).
The Gulls had a chance to take a 3-2 lead when freshman \#Taylor Ocko\# (Danvers, Mass.) was served a corner kick by senior midfielder \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine). Ocko's shot was headed for an open net, but a Leopard defender cleared the ball off the line to prevent the go-ahead goal.
The score remained tied 2-2 until the Leopards were awarded a penalty kick after Elizabeth Somma (Windham, Maine) was foul in the box with 12 seconds remaining in regulation. The penalty kick was taken and scored by Cook to the lower left side of the net.
Endicott keeper \#Natalie\# Wyrsch (Dover, N.H.) made six saves in the match while Wentworth sophomore Jess Gardner (Wilbraham, Mass.) made eight stops, including six in the second half to earn the win.
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday. The Gulls host Roger Williams at 6:30 pm while the Leopards host Nichols at 4:00 pm.
